Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Junior to Mid-Level Real Estate Associate Attorney to join their dynamic New York City, NY team. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of real estate transactional experience, preferably from a large law firm, and will be eager to work on complex real estate matters, including acquisitions, sales, leasing, joint ventures, and financing. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing real estate contracts, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, and joint venture agreements.
  • Manage and coordinate real estate transactions from inception to closing, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence for real estate acquisitions, sales, and financing, including title review, zoning, and land use analysis.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop and implement strategies for complex real estate transactions, including hotel, resort, and development projects.
  • Advise clients on legal aspects of real estate transactions, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and review financing documents, including loan agreements, mortgages, and security instruments.
  • Stay current with legal developments in real estate law and contribute to the firm's knowledge management initiatives.
  • Participate in client meetings, providing legal insights and contributing to developing client relationships.
  • Support the firm’s business development efforts by contributing to proposals and pitches for new work.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff, as necessary, in real estate transactional matters.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • 2-4 years of real estate transactional experience, preferably from a large law firm.
    • Experience with acquisitions, sales, leasing, joint ventures, and financing.
    • Significant plus for experience with hotel and resort projects and development projects.
  • Education:

    • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Certifications:

    • Active membership in the Bar in the United States (preferably in New York or eligibility to waive in).
