ProfileManaging Attorney The candidate will oversee the IFP Project in south Florida, including providing research assistance, training and litigation support to attorneys representing survivors in injunction for protection proceedings, reviewing monthly and quarterly reports, and providing other support to organisation in the management of legal-related projects. Should have Florida Bar membership. Must have experience supervising other lawyers, both on site and in remote locations, and addressing personnel issues. Must have 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably representing survivors of domestic, dating and sexual violence and stalking in injunction for protection proceedings and other civil legal matters, or prosecuting or defending batterers in criminal proceedings. Should have strong understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the Battered Womenâ€™s Movement and knowledge of the feminist analysis of battering, as well as the dynamics of domestic violence, and knowledge of root causes of violence against women and oppressed groups. Must have excellent research, writing and communication skills with both small and large groups of individuals. Should have excellent problem solving skills and ability to make appropriate decisions with minimal supervision. Excellent record-keeping and report writing skills; attention to detail is a must. Should have strong passion for advocating for survivors of domestic, dating, and sexual violence and stalking.
