Commercial Real Estate Paralegal The candidate play a vital role in supporting contracts administration. MITIMCo has two legal teams--Real Estate Legal Services and Global Investment Legal Services. Will provide primary support (80%) to the Real Estate Legal Team, while also providing overflow support (20%) to the Global Investment Legal Team. Will facilitate contract management, document management, and support legal process management. Responsibilities include reviewing legal contracts and approvals; processing documents through execution and filing procedures; drafting form letter agreements; reviewing title insurance policies and land surveys; entering information into relevant software systems; partnering in the formation and maintenance of MIT legal entities used for real estate investment purposes; data and deadline management; responding to and/or directing inquiries regarding the status of legal documents.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have bachelor’s degree. Must have 5+ years’ experience in a law firm or in-house legal department/office. Should have track record of producing high-quality work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with frequent deliverables. Must have experience working with legal documents in investment management and/or real estate management/development. Should have excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills; high-level proficiency with Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Must be able set priorities, juggle multiple activities simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines; adjust easily to shifting priorities; suggest and implement improvements/refinements to improve the overall effectiveness of a team; and resolve complex problems in a thorough and timely manner. Should preferably have paralegal certification and experience with iManage and Adobe Acrobat.
