Law Students Summer Program The firm provides students with real world work experience. The training will include everything from administrative details - such as how to work the phones - to substantive legal skills, like drafting a licensing agreement. Will draft memos and briefs that will actually be read by clients and judges. Typical assignments include legal research, motion practice, preparing exhibits, drafting contracts, prepare witness outlines, reviewing depositions, analyzing legal agreements, drafting memoranda, and much more. Summer associates will also be asked to meet with clients, attend depositions, work on trial preparation, and participate in anything else that attorneys might be working on during the summer. Attend client meetings, closings, court conferences, depositions and trials. Will also get a sense of the firm's commitment to pro bono with the opportunity to handle a pro bono project. Will also get practical, hands-on guidance from talented legal writers in a workshop series format which covers essential skills for attorneys, including contract drafting and negotiation, legal and research memoranda, bluebooking, and marketing writing skills, among other topics. Get the opportunity to participate in departmental training for associates and partners. Will also be able to work on pro bono matters during the summer. Second year law students with excellent academic performance, diverse interests, and a healthy sense of adventure are considered. The summer program runs for 10 weeks.
