Law Students Summer Program
The firm provides students with real world work experience. The training will include everything from administrative details - such as how to work the phones - to substantive legal skills, like drafting a licensing agreement. Will draft memos and briefs that will actually be read by clients and judges. Typical assignments include legal research, motion practice, preparing exhibits, drafting contracts, prepare witness outlines, reviewing depositions, analyzing legal agreements, drafting memoranda, and much more. Summer associates will also be asked to meet with clients, attend depositions, work on trial preparation, and participate in anything else that attorneys might be working on during the summer. Attend client meetings, closings, court conferences, depositions and trials. Will also get a sense of the firm's commitment to pro bono with the opportunity to handle a pro bono project. Will also get practical, hands-on guidance from talented legal writers in a workshop series format which covers essential skills for attorneys, including contract drafting and negotiation, legal and research memoranda, bluebooking, and marketing writing skills, among other topics. Get the opportunity to participate in departmental training for associates and partners. Will also be able to work on pro bono matters during the summer. Second year law students with excellent academic performance, diverse interests, and a healthy sense of adventure are considered. The summer program runs for 10 weeks.

"A Collegial Environment "

Former Employee - Reviewed on December 18, 2017

The firm needs to downsize or create more opportunities for employees to advancement. This firm is large so it seems this cannot be remedied as much.

Pros : This firm goes above expectations to make you feel at home. With accommodating workspaces, flexible hours, and a great staff its second nature to expand your abilities as an attorney here.
Cons : Finding advancement opportunities within the firm is challenging. This firm is growing very rapidly, competition is fierce. As time goes on it's becoming much more difficult to advance within the firm because of this.
