Job Overview:

The Employment Litigation Associate Attorney will manage a diverse caseload involving employment law disputes, including wage and hour claims, collective and class actions, and matters before labor and employment agencies. This role demands significant litigation experience, excellent advocacy skills, and a strong understanding of employment law.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle investigations and litigation before the . Department of Labor, California Department of Industrial Relations, California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, EEOC, and other state and local human rights agencies.
  • Represent clients in matters before the National Labor Relations Board, including issues related to union organizing, collective bargaining, unfair labor practices, union elections, and arbitrations.
  • Manage employment litigation cases in federal and state courts, including wage and hour disputes, collective and class actions.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare detailed legal briefs, memoranda, and other documents.
  • Develop and implement case strategies, including discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
  • Advise clients on employment law compliance, risk management, and litigation avoidance strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address legal issues and ensure favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Stay informed about changes in employment law and relevant legal precedents to provide up-to-date advice and representation.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of litigation experience in defending federal and state wage and hour cases, including collective and class actions.
  • Education: Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Certification: Admitted to practice in California.
  • Skills:
    • Proven experience handling investigations and litigation before various labor and employment agencies.
    • Strong background in representing clients in matters before the National Labor Relations Board.
    • Expertise in managing complex employment litigation cases in federal and state courts.
