Assistant Public Defender I/II, III, IV The candidate will handle preliminary hearings for both felony and misdemeanor cases which are bond over to Superior and State court. Will work with and report directly to a Senior Attorney working in court with them. Should be admitted to practice law in Georgia and be in good standing with the Bar, and have reliable transportation. Strong background in Jury Trial and felony casework is needed. Appeal experience and admission to the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals is preferred. Lawyers work in teams, generally assigned to two Superior Court Judges trial divisions. Must have strong organizational skills. Must have completed JD degree, passed the Georgia Bar and be a member in Good Standing with the State Bar of Georgia. Should be admitted to practice law in Georgia and be in good standing with the Bar, and have reliable transportation. Preference for someone with excellent caseload management skills, the ability to work independently, minimum amount of trial experience is preferred. Ability to handle arraignments and pretrial conferences, and ability to read and spot issues in discovery and file appropriate motions is preferred.
