Compliance Specialist I The candidate will be responsible for supporting the regulatory compliance function at firm's. Will research, compile and analyze state and federal legislation to determine impact on products, policies, procedures, standards and administration. Prepare and distribute legislative and regulatory communications and summaries related to new and existing laws and regulations. Prepare regulatory compliance reports and other reports relevant to the position. Maintain database of current regulatory requirements for use by business operations. Respond to simple regulatory compliance inquiries from internal clients. Manage and maintain the regulatory compliance requests database, including triaging, prioritizing and distributing requests. Track regulatory compliance deadlines. Coordinate activities, appointments and meetings for the Regulatory Compliance Team, including kickoff meetings, interview requests, closing meetings, and evidence gathering. Coordinate and track regulatory compliance deliverables. Assist with the interpretation of and/or execution of changes in regulations and guidelines. Draft general departmental documents and communications such as policies, operating procedures and other regulatory compliance documents. Assume additional clerical and administrative duties and responsibilities, as needed or directed. High School Diploma required. Must have 1 year of experience performing legal and regulatory research. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Preferred experience in the managed care industry with familiarity with health care regulations, specifically with Medicaid. Must have experience with computers and MS Office. Paralegal certification preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed.
