Employee Relations Manager The candidate supports company’s various fulfillment businesses within North America. The central objective of company’s Employee Relations team is to ensure our organization’s treatment of employees is fair, respectful, and consistent. Will be responsible for the following types of proactive work: Independently own large scale, network-wide projects that improve the associate experience at a site and network level. Partner and influence senior leaders when necessary to ensure a positive associate experience. Partner with senior leaders and HR teams to create and sustain positive employee relations programs and best practices. Design and conduct employee relations trainings and communications. Design, collect, and analyze multiple levels of employee feedback. Conduct and oversee employee relations vulnerability assessment programs. Partner to engage in continuous improvement in communication vehicles and practices. Analyze, diagnose, design, and revise people programs, policies, and practices to sustain positive employee relations. On a reactive basis, this individual will manage end-to-end response efforts to union organizing. Work reactively on critical employee relations issues that are crisis-oriented and typically can only be successfully completed with limited time. Time management between proactive and reactive responsibilities is a critical component for success in the position. Reports to an Employee Relations Principal within the Operations Human Resources group at company.
Qualification and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree, JD, or other relevant specialized training is a significant plus. Must have solid understanding of federal and state employment & labor laws. Should have 7 years direct experience in employee relations, labor relations, union avoidance work, or labor/employment law with an emphasis on union avoidance. Experience in manufacturing, distribution, transportation and/or call center locations is highly preferred; some experience working in unionized setting is desirable. Experience in designing and delivering successful training programs is desired. Must have advanced verbal and written communication skills. Must be technically proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint, with ability to become proficient with HTML a plus. Should preferably have Team player with strong presentation and public speaking skills. Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills, enabling individual to establish partnerships working with senior leaders and across organizational lines are required.
