A law firm in San Francisco, CA, seeks a skilled Labor and Employment Associate to join its growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney with 3-5 years of experience in employment law and litigation. The ideal candidate will have a diverse background, including defense work in employment-related matters, such as class actions, single-plaintiff cases, traditional labor law, and employment counseling.

Duties

  • Represent clients in employment law matters, including class actions and individual disputes.
  • Provide legal counsel and strategy regarding employment law compliance, workplace issues, and labor relations.
  • Handle complex litigation cases, from pre-trial motions to resolution, for both plaintiffs and defendants.
  • Offer practical advice to clients on day-to-day employment issues such as policies, terminations, and other workplace matters.
  • Work alongside colleagues across offices to manage cases and contribute to the firm's expanding practice.
  • Participate in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Stay current on developments in labor and employment law to provide informed advice to clients.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on litigation and counseling.
  • Proven track record handling complex employment disputes, including class actions and single-plaintiff cases.
  • Strong legal writing and research skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across offices and teams.
  • Excellent academic credentials; membership in the Order of the Coif, law review, or clerkship experience is a plus.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in California.
