ProfileParalegal 3 - Consumer Deposits Paralegal The candidate would join a specialized team of attorneys and paralegals in the Deposits/Payments section of the Law Department, and would specifically provide support for firmâ€™s consumer deposits products and services. Would research issues and matters which involve substantial legal or factual complexity, through detailed research and/or examination of documentation and/or factual investigation. Topics could include consumer deposit law, unclaimed property and escheat, sales practices and integrity, fraud and other schemes, domestic and global payments, and review of marketing and other consumer disclosures and communication. Provide substantiation and background for specific client inquiries, claims, disputes, cases, and/or proceedings with minimal direction of an attorney. Would produce clear and concise written materials that can be submitted to the client with minimal revision or review by an attorney. The paralegal would work directly with clients and develop an understanding of the business unit needs, and would develop plans to resolve issues. Would be able to identify specific as well as broad underlying issues in the consumer deposits area and work independently on very complex assignments without direct supervision.
Qualification and Experience
A Paralegal certification may be required in some states. Should have 6+ years of paralegal experience. Must have 3+ years of focused practice in a concentrated area of law. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills is desired. 6+ years of experience working with laws and regulations applicable to consumer deposit products, including Regulations DD and E, unclaimed property and escheat laws is preferred. 3+ years of focused practice in consumer deposits law is desired. Experience with marketing review is desired. Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy is preferred. should have strong organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills. Strong research skills is desired. Must have advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills.
