McGivney, Kluger & Cook's Florham Park office seeks a Legal Secretary to join our team!
*This position can be either full-time or part-time*


  • 2-5 years of defense litigation experience.
  • Must have prior experience with litigation procedures and processes, e-filing, and creating table of authorities.
  • Ability to coordinate meetings, travel, expense reimbursements, calendar and scheduling work, and input time.
  • Prior experience with attorney dictation.
  • Attention to detail and follow through is essential for success.
  • Open to taking on new responsibilities and challenging tasks.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to integrate into a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent typing skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Outlook, Excel).


  • Preparing motions.
  • Dictation.
  • Calendaring.
  • Drafting of legal documents.
  • Various administrative duties such as travel coordination and coordinating meetings.
  • Inputting attorney time.
  • Answering phones and relieving the firm's receptionist once a week for an hour.
  • Other duties as assigned

There needs to be leadership classes for management. High levels of ego affect management in giving their best leadership skills to their staff. Staff members who perform well should be compensated with a higher salary.

Pros : The firm pushes the aspects of individual and career development. Many opportunities are presented in order to learn and gain experience. The staff is very co-operative.
Cons : Some of the benefits are not available during holidays. In some cases, staff members who perform well are not rewarded. The salary is low. A lack of communication affects the firm.
