ProfileSenior Paralegal Duties: Support in-house attorneys in connection with all types of commercial real estate and private equity transactions, including fund and joint venture formation, purchases and sales, financing transactions, and leasing. Will also perform multiple administrative job duties in support of the Legal department. Coordinate efforts between outside counsel, lenders, borrowers, sellers and other business contacts. Keep and adhere to a schedule of inter-connected deadlines on multiple projects. Lead the title and survey process for real estate transactions: review title commitments and surveys; draft and respond to title and survey objection letters; work directly with title underwriters to clear title and obtain title policies; investigate and assist in resolution of title and survey matters further as required. Perform other legal due diligence: review and flag issues in zoning reports, environmental reports, property tax records and other documents. Prepare documentation for transaction closings: timelines and checklists, deeds, mortgages, memoranda of leases, UCC financing statements. Manage transaction closings: coordinate internally with accounting, acquisition and asset management departments and externally with escrow and title officers. Draft legal notices, operating agreements, corporate resolutions and professional correspondence. Form and qualify limited liability companies in various states. Perform some legal research on an as-needed basis. Prepare closing binder indexes.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm environment. Paralegal certificate/accreditation. High proficiency in SharePoint (maintaining pages and page development) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point). Ability to work with confidential information and handle with discretion. Professional demeanor and ability to work well with all levels within the organization. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and deadlines. Strong organization and planning skills; able to manage several priorities at once.
