Senior Legal Counsel - Healthcare The candidate will provide strategic legal counsel to internal business partners and leadership. Will draft and negotiate commercial prescription benefit services (PBM) contracts with the company payor clients. Advise internal stakeholders on an array of matters and work in conjunction with the team and internal partners on items related to PBM agreements, legal and regulatory compliance, and general corporate legal issues. Identify business and legal risks and provide solutions which balance legal issues and business objectives. Develop a deep understanding of the business and operational goals of assigned internal clients and work diligently to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients at all levels of the organization. Collaborate effectively and working as a great teammate in order to provide practical and sound advice to internal clients on legal issues related to business objectives and take an active role in driving projects to final result.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have an undergraduate degree and J.D. degree. Should be a member in good standing of applicable State Bar association. Should preferably have a J.D. degree from a top tier educational institution. Must have 5+ years of experience of transactional or contracting experience with a law firm or healthcare company. Should be admitted to practice law in at least one state. Should preferably have 8+ years of contracting and/or transactional experience supporting a wide variety of corporate issues and complex contracts. Health experience or PBM contracting is desired. Commitment to high standards in a work product and strong business insight is an asset. Working knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, the False Claims Act, and the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute is a plus. Expertise in negotiating and drafting a variety of complex contracts is ideal.
