Legal Assistant (OA), GS 5 The candidate will be responsible for: Performing basic research by reviewing and analyzing legal case materials by locating information from other files or cases cited. Gathering data from a variety of databases to provide the most current information related to a legal case. Drafting legal memoranda, motions, responses, and correspondence based on guidance from attorneys or paralegals. Traveling is required.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have the following qualifications:
For GS-05: Should have 1+ year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level in the Federal service that included experience such as: Providing assistance in a legal office; Performing support functions related to tracking and managing court dockets, motions, and/or appeals; Locating and reviewing legal case files and/or material to obtain status of cases; and Preparing routine written correspondence from individuals, attorneys, and/or their representatives regarding the status of legal cases.
Must have 4+ years of successfully completed education above the high school level or a bachelor's degree in any field.(Must submit transcript)
A combination of experience and education listed above.
