Job Title: Mid-Level Cyber/Data/Privacy Attorney

Job Overview
A prestigious law firm in San Francisco, CA, seeks a skilled attorney with 4-6 years of experience to join its Cyber/Data/Privacy practice group. The ideal candidate will specialize in litigation and/or regulatory enforcement investigations focused on privacy and data security. The firm’s team consists of over 30 attorneys across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia and is known for its award-winning work in cyber, data, and privacy-related litigation and investigations.

Duties

• Handle litigation or regulatory investigations related to privacy and data security matters.
• Engage in cases involving consumer protection issues, particularly in dealing with State AG, FTC, and other regulatory agencies.
• Defend against class actions such as those involving the Stored Communications Act, wiretapping claims, deceptive trade practices, and data breaches.
• Lead significant legal projects and provide strategic advice directly to clients.
• Collaborate with teams across the firm and assist in expanding the practice group’s presence in cyber, data, and privacy law.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience focusing on regulatory investigations or litigation involving privacy and data security issues.
• Experience with class actions related to data privacy and consumer protection.
• Expertise in handling cases involving State AG, FTC, or other regulatory agency investigations.
• Strong technology fluency and understanding of emerging issues in the data security and privacy landscape.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized law school.

Certifications

• Active Bar membership in California or eligibility to be admitted to practice in California.
