Settlement Paralegal Duties: Responsible for assisting Director of Settlements by reviewing Settlement Memorandums to ensure complete compliance with office protocols and Bar Rules. Review Settlement Memorandums to ensure accuracy and complete compliance with office protocols and Bar Rules. Review client files to ensure all essential documents are contained therein. Confirm all reductions, liens and payments are accurately reflected on the Settlement Memorandum. Provide ledgers and analysis of client accounts as requested by management, attorneys and staff. Assist accounting clerk with disbursements as needed. Work closely with attorneys, staff and clients to resolve open IOLTA accounts. Communicate in a professional, courteous, pleasant and personal manner with clients, attorneys, providers and other staff on the telephone and in personal interactions. Work with Lead Trainer on training staff throughout the Firm.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Previous experience in accounting, finance, or other related fields. Paralegal experience with personal injury cases. Fundamental knowledge of liens, Medicare, Medicaid and ERISA laws. Ability to prioritize and multitask. Strong organizational skills. Deadline and detail-oriented. Ability to handle a high volume of cases. Proficiency in Word, Excel and Quickbooks.
