Patent Paralegal The candidate provides organizational and substantive support to attorneys and paralegals in the Intellectual Property Group, primarily in the patent prosecution area. Updates and manages patent portfolio and patent competitor databases. Communicate closely with attorneys, and clients under attorneysâ€™ direction, to ensure information is correct and that patent status is accurately reported. Prepares Information Disclosure Statements following established department practices. Prepares foreign reference submissions in countries with a "duty to disclose." Prepares patent status reports, patent family trees, and patent timelines. Calculates patent-term adjustments. Assists with preparation and filings of documents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Coordinate paralegal role within team preparation processes, collaborating closely with clients, attorneys, and staff to ensure accuracy, teamwork, and exemplary client service. Assists with research and performs library and online searches; collaborate with outside libraries and library staff to obtain reference materials. Reviews and proof reads patent applications and claims. Must have Bachelorâ€™s degree. Should have 3+ years of experience in a law firm as a patent paralegal. Must have solid experience preparing Information Disclosure Statements. Experience preparing Genetic Sequence Listings is preferred.
