ProfileHousing Attorney The candidate will provide legal representation and advocacy to clients with housing issues including representation in housing court (including trial representation), administrative venues, supreme court, and appellate litigation. Will participate in community based initiatives on housing issues. Provide clients with benefits advocacy. Collaboratively develop approaches to affordable housing retention. Maintain daily and consistent case notes and status updates in firm’s proprietary database. Organize and maintain client files in compliance with grant requirements. Work with the Community Organizing Department on, and provide representation to, possible group or class action cases. Should have a JD Law Degree/LL.B. with admission to the New York State Bar or willingness to take exam. Should preferably have 1-3 years of relevant housing and court experience. Non-profit housing work experience preferred. Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred.
