ProfileAssistant United States Attorney The candidate will represent the US in all Affirmative Civil Enforcement actions as well as the districts qui tam litigation. Duties will include: providing direction to law enforcement agents investigating violations of the Federal False Claims Act; reviewing and analyzing large volumes of records; conducting depositions and other civil discovery; drafting civil complaints and trying civil cases before the United States District Court; and representing the United States in civil appeals before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have a J.D. degree, be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have 1+ year of post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience. Should preferably have 2+ years of experience in handling affirmative civil litigation or civil health care litigation cases. Prior jury trial experience is strongly preferred. A strong emphasis on civil prosecution of health care offenses is expected.
