Venture Technology (Data Privacy and Cybersecurity) Associate The candidate will do legal research and analysis. Draft policies and procedures (privacy policies, privacy statements, incident response plans, vendor contracting templates, etc.). Assist clients with determining priorities and implementation of privacy and/or cyber governance preferably have certified Information Privacy Professionals, including the following certifications: CIPP-US, CIPP-EU, and CIPM. Should be licensed to practice law in the relevant state of hire, and be in good standing. Must have 3-6 years’ of practical experience with data privacy, including specific health care privacy experience (such as HIPAA and state sensitive information laws). Industry experience and/or experience drafting privacy and security policies and procedures for compliance with at least several of the following: FTC and State AG best practices (FIPPs), GLBA, HIPAA, CAN-SPAM, COPPA, Cal-OPPA, state breach notification and security laws, US-EU and US-Swiss Privacy Shield. Working understanding of international, federal, state and local privacy and security laws and technologies to support compliance. Must have excellent research and organizational skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication abilities. Must be self-starter with the ability to prioritize workload with competing demands. Displays good judgment and works well under pressure. Must be capable of enjoying work in a collaborative, congenial environment. Must have ability to independently manage matters, or meaningful segments of large/complex matters, and to facilitate pushing projects to completion.
