A respected law firm specializing in labor and employment law is seeking a motivated entry-level Associate Attorney to join its plaintiff-side litigation team. The selected candidate will support clients in matters related to workplace discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage violations. Location

  • Burlington, VT

Duties

  • Conduct client intake interviews and assess legal claims

  • Draft litigation documents including court filings and administrative charges

  • Represent clients at agency and court hearings, and mediations

  • Negotiate settlements and communicate with opposing counsel

  • Manage assigned litigation cases under partner supervision

  • Conduct legal research and write supporting memoranda

  • Track deadlines and maintain detailed case records

  • Participate in client development activities as needed

Requirements

  • Must have taken the Bar Exam and earned a UBE score of 270 or higher

    • Recent exam takers awaiting results may be considered if law school GPA is +

  • Bar admission in New York or a New England state preferred (or willingness to apply)

  • Residency or relocation plan to an eligible state is required

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for occasional travel

  • Ability to maintain a private, professional home workspace

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • UBE score of at least 270 required

  • Active Bar admission preferred

Skills

  • Strong legal writing and persuasive communication

  • Solid research and analytical abilities

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Capable of managing long-term projects and multitasking under pressure

  • Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment

  • Positive mindset, collaborative nature, and commitment to high-quality work

  • Interest in employment law and advocacy for employee rights

  • Familiarity with federal and state employment laws (preferred, not required)
