Electronics Engineer/Computer Engineer/Computer Scientist (Interdisciplinary), GS 11 - 13 Duties: The candidate will design, plan, coordinate and direct the test and evaluation of Information Technology and National Security Systems programs. Will develop conceptual approaches and test strategies that will efficiently and effectively determine a systemâ€™s ability to meet performance and interoperability requirements. Write and review test planning documents. Determine the necessary test resources, environment, duration and the data collection, reduction, management and analysis strategy to include the adjudication of test and evaluation results. Oversee and direct conduct of tests to determine system compliance with operational effectiveness, suitability and interoperability criteria. Serve as team leader or team member on projects and programs of varying scope and complexity.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification: GS-854 and GS-855 : The candidate should have Degree: professional engineering. Must be be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: statistics, dynamics; strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); fluid mechanics, hydraulics; thermodynamics; electrical fields and circuits; nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and ( any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
Must have combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
GS-1550; The candidate should have Computer Science Series: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
Must have 1+ year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
GS-11: Should have specialized experience is defined as: experience assisting in test planning, mathematical and statistical modeling and serving as a team member or team lead on projects.
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. is substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.
GS-12. Should have specialized experience is defined as: experience in test planning, design, coordination and execution, development testing, mathematical and statistical modeling and leading projects.
GS-13: Should have specialized experience is defined as: experience leading test design, planning, direct test planning, writing and reviewing test planning documents, developmental testing, mathematical and statistical modeling and leading projects.
