Davis & Whitlock, P.C., a specialized Plaintiff’s environmental litigation firm located in Asheville, North Carolina, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our office.  The candidate will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the firm’s environmental litigation practice.  Conduct legal research. Communicate with clients and opposing counsel. Conduct all phases of civil discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery and document management, as well as conducting/defending depositions. Engage in motion practice, including drafting of legal motions, memoranda, and other legal filings.   Identify and work with expert witnesses.  Prepare for hearings and trial.

Qualification and Experience

A J.D. degree with 3 to 5 years of litigation experience required. Experience litigating in federal court is preferred, as is experience in environmental litigation.  A sincere interest in and/or passion for environmental protection is required.  Experience in complex litigation is a plus. Strong analytical, research/writing, and oral advocacy skills required.  Must be self-motivated and willing to work evenings and weekends.  Must be admitted to, or willing to apply for admission to, the North Carolina Bar.
