Associate Counsel- Regulatory Affairs and EHS Duties: Monitor emerging product regulations as well as enforcement initiatives with respect to the EPA, DOE, FTC, OSHA and corresponding state agencies regulating consumer product manufacturers. Perform risk analysis and due diligence related to regulatory compliance risks. Provide creative solutions to efficiently manage regulatory risk areas and issues of concern. Train and educate business teams on regulations, regulatory trends and product compliance program requirements. Advocate position in regulatory matters before federal and state agencies and with third parties. Partner with Technology, Product Management, Supply Chain, Sourcing, and other functions to drive and help coordinate implementation of regulatory agenda. Support development and implementation of public policy and government relations strategies, goals and projects. Provide legal guidance and support to EHS function, including with respect to federal and state environmental permitting, investigations, government inquiries, and related matters.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited college or university. 7+ years' experience, specific practice experience with regulatory processes, federal agency rulemaking and consumer product related regulations, including product content, performance and manufacturing. Relocation required and assistance provided. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills. Ability for self-directed work in dynamic, matrixed organization. Ability to manage/coordinate broad spectrum of initiatives simultaneously. Preferred: Experience dealing with engineering or technical issues relating to product performance desired. Experience in EHS position and/or issues and/or work in or with consumer product industries.
