Legal Assistant Duties: Prepares Documents: Using MS Word and the firmâ€™s case management and document storage systems, composes and processes necessary documents (i.e. routine cover letters and enclosures, memorandum, complex legal documents). Prepares document for distribution and filing (e-filing) as required. Court Filing Experience: Must maintain experience and familiarity with filing court pleadings. Coordinates Financial Functions: Prepares daily time entries for assigned attorneys as needed and submits in a timely manner. Prepares expense reimbursement and disbursement requests. Provides Administrative Support: Prepares and processes new matter notifications. Receives and screens phone calls and takes messages as required. Schedules and arranges for conference rooms and meals. Scheduling - manages multiple attorney calendars as needed, including initial scheduling, confirmations and reminders. Greet visitors, answer phones, general office management in absence of receptionist.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: 5 yearsâ€™ experience as a Legal Assistant. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products - PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc. Ability to take dictation. Technologically savvy. Experience with case management systems.
