A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team handling professional liability, general liability, and commercial coverage cases. The role offers extensive exposure to diverse subject areas and clients, providing a broad experience for a motivated attorney. The ideal candidate will be involved in all stages of cases from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal, under the mentorship of seasoned attorneys.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze and summarize legal documents related to professional liability, general liability, and commercial coverage cases.
• Conduct comprehensive legal and factual research on people, businesses, and worksites.
• Evaluate cases and develop strategic defenses in collaboration with senior attorneys.
• Conduct client meetings and recommend legal strategies based on case evaluations.
• Investigate facts, plan, prepare, and conduct depositions of witnesses and corporate representatives.
• Prepare and argue motions, conduct hearings, and participate in mediations.
• Brief cases for trial and appellate courts, including writing defense mediation summaries.
• Think analytically to anticipate legal issues and formulate effective legal strategies.
• Actively maintain licensure and good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
• Utilize critical thinking and research skills to support legal arguments.
• Demonstrate strong writing, analytical, and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to review and interpret financial records is a plus.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Georgia; admission to additional jurisdictions is advantageous.
• 1-5 years of experience in defense litigation, preferably with solid insurance defense experience.
• Experience in professional liability and/or coverage litigation is a significant plus.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload and work independently under deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
