Senior Counsel, Employment The candidate will work as part of the internal team to manage outside counsel in class action and single-claimant litigation to administrative hearings (federal and state wage and hour complaints, Unemployment hearings, and Workers’ Compensation litigation). Will provide legal advice to various business groups on all types of employment law matters, including hiring, discipline, and termination, wage and hour rules, disability accommodation, discrimination and harassment issues, OFCCP obligations, trade secret protection, and investigations. Advise the business on a wide variety of current and proposed products, e.g., Eats. Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of company policies and compliance efforts. Provide training to HR and managers throughout U.S. on employment issues and business ethics. Practicing attorney with 8+ years of experience in California and federal employment law in a law firm and/or in-house legal department is needed. In-house counsel experience, especially in tech, transportation or delivery, strongly preferred. Experience with employee misclassification issues are needed. Substantive knowledge and experience in class, collective, representative, and individual-claimant litigation is needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and able to establish effective relationships with all levels of management is essential.
