Deputy Town Attorney
Duties: Serve as legal counsel for elected officials, Town boards and commissions, department heads, and other Town officials and employees; Prepare and review various legal documents, including, Town Board resolutions, local laws, contracts, and memoranda of law; Prosecute violations of the Code of the Town; Defend or initiate litigation on behalf of the Town; Manage employee relations, including, but not limited to, collective bargaining, grievance proceedings, and arbitration hearings; Perform such additional and related duties of the Town as required by law and the Code of the Town. Attend all meetings, hearings and trials of matters of concern to the Town.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Admitted to practice law in the State of New York. Thorough knowledge of New York State laws, rules and regulations; Proficiency at WestLaw-legal research of case law and legislative history; Ability to apply various legal principles to unique situations; Ability to balance priorities and remain organized; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; Proficiency at word processing.
