Employment Law Counsel The candidate will report to the company's VP, Deputy General Counsel. Will have a broad range of responsibilities providing legal support across the entire employee lifecycle, including recruiting, hiring, training, performance management, compensation, leaves of absence, return to work and accommodation issues, benefits, terminations, investigations, and other employment-related matters. Provide advice and strategic support to company's People Teams (Business Partners, Recruiters, People Operations) and business leaders on recruiting, hiring, training, performance management, compensation, leaves of absence, return to work and accommodation issues, benefits, terminations, investigations, and other employment-related matters. Draft, review, edit and advise on employment-related documents, policies and processes. Assist in formulating, revising and ensuring compliance with company policies and best practices. Conduct training programs for People teams, management and employees. Assist with other projects (such as the employment-related aspects of M&A), as needed.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have JD degree and membership in the California bar (or eligibility to become a registered in-house counsel). Must have 5-8 years of relevant experience in labor and employment counseling and litigation, preferably at a recognized law firm and/or in-house at a public company. Experience managing pre-litigation and litigation matters required. Experience managing domestic and international matters preferred. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills essential. Excellent judgment and ability to manage and drive multiple projects simultaneously.
