ProfileFamily Law Paralegal Candidate will provide exceptional support to attorneys. Perform legal and factual research; Positive demeanor and professional communicator; and Prepare discovery requests and responses to discovery requests, and help with trial preparation including witness lists, exhibits and trial binders. Court filings; Draft correspondence; Draft legal documents for clients; Ensure all deadlines are met for client cases and support attorneys’ internal deadlines; Maintain and organize client files; Perform administrative functions related to paralegal duties; Review and edit legal documents for accuracy; and Work with attorneys on family law court documents, discovery, and research.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Must have 1+ year of experience in family law, specifically in drafting decrees, motions, orders, and petitions. Should also be well versed in courthouse filing procedures, preparing discovery requests, and organizing exhibits for trial. Must effectively assist 3 attorneys. Must be able to hit the ground running with very minimal training, be able to think on feet, be proficient in Microsoft Word and practice management software (specifically Clio), and have effective communication and time management skills. Ability to multi-task, detail-oriented, and organized; Familiar with family courts in Oklahoma, Canadian, Cleveland, Pottawatomie, and surrounding counties; High competency regarding the litigation process in family law cases; High-volume drafting; Knowledge of the Oklahoma Marriage Statute (Title 43) and the UCCJEA (in Title 10); Organize and track case files.
