Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly skilled Securities Attorney with 6+ years of experience to join its Investment Funds Group. This professional track (non-partnership) role focuses on managing structured securities offerings with a primary emphasis on real estate finance, acquisitions, and dispositions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in representing public and private real estate companies, REITs, and institutional investors in a wide range of transactions including acquisitions, restructurings, financings, and commercial real estate development. Strong analytical and writing skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and independently, are essential for success in this role.

Location:

  • Reston, VA

Duties:

  • Manage structured securities offerings for the Investment Funds Group.
  • Handle real estate finance, acquisitions, dispositions, and related transactions.
  • Represent public and private real estate companies, REITs, and institutional investors.
  • Engage in complex financing and restructuring transactions.
  • Work closely with clients and internal teams to execute commercial real estate development projects.
  • Provide expert legal advice and counsel on real estate and securities matters.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of legal documents and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals and business partners as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in securities law, with a focus on structured securities offerings.
  • Prior experience in real estate finance, acquisitions, and dispositions is preferred.
  • Experience representing public and private companies, REITs, and institutional investors.
  • Proven track record of handling complex transactions in commercial real estate.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work effectively in both collaborative and independent settings.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to practice law in the jurisdiction where applying.
