Lead Counsel- Treasury Regulation And Risk (Recovery And Resolution Planning) Duties: Serve as a legal subject matter expert on recovery and resolution planning law and regulations. Deliver practical legal advice that is tailored based on the audience, issues presented, and relevant facts. Identify and effectively escalate potential or emerging legal or regulatory risks. Communicate complex advice and concepts clearly, both in writing and verbally, to various audiences including senior leaders and non-lawyers. Demonstrate flexibility to handle a wide variety of tasks and excel in time management and collaboration. Lead complex initiatives with broad impact and act as a key participant in large-scale planning. Provide guidance to senior management on complex legal and regulatory matters with a significant impact on business initiatives, strategy, and performance. Assess the legal risk associated with all risk types and develops strategies for reducing legal exposure. Lead analysis of and response to legal, regulatory, reputational, compliance, and policy matters within the area of expertise. Identify and analyze complex legal issues, develop conclusions, and make recommendations for issue resolution. Serve as the primary legal contact for assigned clients. Collaborate within the department and across business and staff functions to address legal and risk issues in a manner consistent with the best interests of Wells Fargo. Take an active role in the development, oversight, and delegation of tasks to more junior staff. May lead initiatives of varying scope and complexity.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: 5+ years of law experience, or equivalent. Active State Bar Membership. Desired Qualifications: 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney. 5+ years of experience advising complex financial institutions on regulatory matters, including recovery and resolution planning, or equivalent experience obtained at one or more regulatory agencies. 5+ years in an in-house environment at a large corporation or with a mid-to a large-size law firm in a practice area focused on complex commercial restructurings and bankruptcies, financial regulations, complex financial services investigations and litigation, or mergers & acquisitions. Extensive experience conducting research and providing counsel and guidance regarding complex legal issues. Experience preparing and delivering effective executive summaries, whitepapers, status reports, and dynamic presentations for management and senior leaders. Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with geographically dispersed colleagues including leadership. Ability to analyze legal and regulatory issues in the area of practice and provide effective advice to clients on multi-faceted legal matters. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple matters. Ability to work effectively in a complex environment with a high degree of collaboration. Effective in building partnerships, functioning well with project teams, and working for the success of the team. Ability to drive results during times of ambiguity and change.
