A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney specializing in Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) to join its Tax & Benefits practice group in Portland, OR. The firm’s ESOP team offers extensive experience in designing, implementing, and regulating ESOPs, providing strategic guidance on plan structure, tax considerations, ERISA implications, and business transaction structuring. Duties
- Design and develop ESOP plans tailored to client needs.
- Implement leveraged ESOP strategies and advise clients on associated benefits and risks.
- Counsel clients on the tax and ERISA implications of ESOP transactions.
- Structure business transactions that involve ESOPs, ensuring compliance and optimal outcomes.
- Perform comprehensive tax planning related to ESOP structures and transactions.
Requirements
- Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in ESOP-related legal work or employee benefits.
- Academic Credentials: Strong academic background with demonstrated analytical and writing abilities.
- Client Service: Client-focused approach with excellent communication skills.

Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
