ProfileContracts/Legal Compliance Assistant The candidate will perform a wide variety of clerical and operational support activities, exercising independent judgment relieves the Senior Management Staff of routine actions not requiring their immediate attention. Will handle confidential matters concerning providers, staff and the corporation. Maintain non-payor contracts, including: Negotiate, if necessary, and draft agreements and contracts upon Executive Director request. Coordinate legal review of documents with legal department and other appropriate individuals. Annually review for compliance with the terms and for regulatory changes. Maintain contracts onsite and an electronic inventory system. Maintain knowledge of agreement/contract legal requirements, including HIPAA documentation requirements. Maintain payor contract files. Coordinate with UnityPoint Health contracting office. Annually review for compliance with the terms. Complete credentialing and re-credentialing applications. Assist with risk management duties, including the completion of insurance applications. Provide support for the compliance department; including provider number application updates and research requests. Prepares a variety of material such as communications, forms, memos, projects, processes, letters, and reports. Effectively uses software applications in the course of assigned duties. Arranges and schedules a variety of meetings; notifying participants, confirming dates and times, reserving meeting rooms, and preparing materials and equipment needed at the meetings. Attends and participates in meetings; may take, transcribe, and distribute minutes as directed. Maintains accurate and detailed calendar of events, due dates, and schedules related to the assigned work unit or program and its services to ensure proper tasks and activities occur as scheduled. Assist with special projects as needed (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, non-clinical audits). Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work. Behave in a manner consistent with Mission, Vision, Values and Expectations for Excellence. Maintain compliance with OSHA, accreditation standards and risk management guidelines. Maintain compliance with Personnel policies and procedures. Behave in a manner consistent with all Corporate Compliance policies and procedures. Perform other duties as requested by the Chief Compliance Officer to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of the organization. Meets measures as determined and required for job productivity and performance improvement. Occasional after hours or overnight travel may be required. Responsible for completion of communication tasks and activities in a timely manner. This would include, but is not limited to: responding to email, voicemail or telephony messages, promptly, accurately, and professionally; attending staff meetings as scheduled or viewing videotapes of those meetings; asking questions of team members and supervisors when needing clarification about various day-to-day issues or patient needs; and reviewing employee communication pieces, to stay aware of UnityPoint at Home programs and initiatives.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Associate degree in business, health administration, related field, or equivalent experience. Legal and/or contract experience or education is required. Must have 1+ year administrative, secretarial, or office manager experience. Must have experience with Microsoft Office 2007 software applications-Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint. Must have knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation. Must have typing ability of 50 wpm. Strong interpersonal skills needed. Paralegal is preferred. Bachelor degree in business, health administration, or related field is preferred. Should preferably have 3+ years of administrative, secretarial, or office manager experience in health care. Project management experience is preferred.
