Seattle office of our client seeks patent attorney with 2+ years of experience. The candidate will join the firm’s Electrical Engineering Patent Practice Group. Will serve in patent preparation and prosecution, patent licensing, and conducting due diligence on new products and technology acquisitions towards rendering opinions to clients. Work closely with clients, inventors, and firm attorneys. Conduct prior art searches. Determine ownership rights to various parts of an invention. Draft patent applications and working with the USPTO to resolve patent examiner questions. Patent licensing, assist clients whose patents have been infringed. Provide support to the litigation department. Advise clients on the use and protection of patents. Assist clients with identifying the nature of their intellectual property. Monitor existing and proposed patents. Attend meetings and conducting conference calls with clients and contacts in the United States and overseas. Deal with general inquiries on patent protection. File domestic and international patent applications. Handle patent renewals. Must have B.S. in electrical engineering. Must have a license to practice law in at least one state, preferably Washington, and admittance to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
