Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a dedicated and experienced Bilingual Immigration Court Attorney to join its team in Dallas, Texas. The position requires an attorney who is passionate about defending clients in immigration court, guiding them through legal proceedings, and advocating on their behalf. This role involves preparing and filing court documents, representing clients in court, and overseeing all aspects of the immigration process for clients. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish, with a strong commitment to helping individuals navigate the complexities of immigration law.

Duties:

  • Court Representation:

    • Draft and file legal documents such as motions, briefs, pleadings, and applications for court proceedings.
    • Attend and represent clients at master and individual calendar hearings.
    • Prepare clients for court appearances by reviewing cases, discussing strategies, and explaining court processes.
  • Case Management:

    • Review client intakes to develop and implement effective court strategies.
    • Monitor client cases and ensure timely communication regarding case updates.
    • Provide strategic legal insight to enhance case outcomes.
  • Client Support:

    • Oversee client communication and ensure a thorough understanding of their legal rights and options.
    • Guide clients through the evidence collection process for court filings.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience representing clients in . immigration courts.
  • Proficiency in filing and appearing before the . Immigration Court system and familiarity with ECAS and EOIR formatting rules.
  • Experience drafting and filing various immigration court documents, including applications for asylum, cancellation of removal, and motions to reopen or terminate proceedings.
  • Knowledge of immigration procedures, with experience in humanitarian and family-based visas preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with government agencies and court personnel.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • An active member in good standing with a state bar.

Skills:

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Advocacy-driven with a passion for client representation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management tools.
