A law firm in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Life Sciences Intellectual Property Attorney to manage and execute complex legal matters related to life sciences. This role demands keen attention to detail, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a strong interest in litigation. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling multiple high-level cases simultaneously, generating new business, and maintaining the highest ethical standards.

Duties

• Manage and oversee high-level legal matters from inception through resolution, ensuring strategic and effective handling of each case.
• Communicate and collaborate with clients and attorneys to address legal issues and provide expert guidance.
• Produce high-quality legal work, meeting billable hour requirements to deliver exceptional client service.
• Independently manage and prioritize multiple cases, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities and productivity.
• Engage in business development activities, both individually and within the firm, to attract and retain clients.
• Maintain adherence to the highest ethical standards and professional conduct in all legal matters.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• . or Master's Degree in a Life Sciences discipline is preferred.
• Expertise in immunology, genetics, molecular biology, and/or pharmaceuticals is highly preferred.
• Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Licensed to practice law in good standing in Missouri (MO).

Experience

• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm or in a judicial clerkship.
• 6+ years of experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm is preferred.

Skills

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle complex legal issues effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client and attorney interactions.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple cases.
• Proven track record in litigation and legal analysis within the life sciences sector.
