Healthcare Paralegal The candidate communicates with clients/legal staff/medical staff by phone or email and coordinates new patients and referrals. Processes referrals, gathers bills and records, collects on accounts, prepares letters and obtains case status. Builds relationships and solicits new cases from those contacts. Obtains authorization for treatment and verifies coverage and liability. Closely watches cases to ensure treatment does not exceed coverage and keeps legal staff informed of client progress. Accurate and detailed database entry based on complete information collected regularly for underwriting cases. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is needed. Should have 1-2 years customer service or paralegal experience.
