Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a detail-oriented and ambitious Associate Attorney to join its legal team in Oakland, CA. This role is ideal for a newly admitted attorney with a strong interest in civil liability defense, including product liability, premises liability, transportation, and construction defense litigation. The selected candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience in litigation within a collaborative and supportive legal environment.

Duties:

• Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis.

• Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.

• Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and mediations.

• Work closely with senior attorneys and partners to develop case strategies.

• Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel.

• Manage caseload efficiently to meet deadlines and case objectives.

Requirements:

• 0-2 years of experience in general civil liability, construction defect, or insurance defense litigation.

• Strong research, analytical, and legal writing abilities.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills:

• Strong litigation and case management capabilities.

• Attention to detail and superior organizational skills.

• Ability to analyze complex legal matters and craft strategic solutions.

• Effective negotiation and advocacy skills.

• Proficiency in legal research platforms and case management software.
