Paralegal The candidate will report to and support the General Counsel. Will assist with preparation of a range of contracts, including employment, non-compete, non-disclosure, commercial agreements, etc. Draft correspondence and prepare, review, modify and analyze various corporate/legal documents. Manage service of process issues, including reporting claims to appropriate carrier and liaise with relevant business unit. Provide support for litigation-related matters, including: assisting with factual investigations; coordinating outside counsel, internal parties and insurance carrier; responding to subpoenas and records requests; and collect, preserve, review and produce documents as necessary. Maintain corporate record books and update officer and director resolutions as directed. Prepare claim updates for quarterly legal exposure reporting and assist with other internal reporting requirements. Provide support for corporate governance initiatives, policy development, training and compliance. Develop and maintain a filing and/or database system for legal matters, including litigation, contracts, real estate leases, etc. Maintain legal department website. Lend overall assistance to the General Counsel in all legal matters.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience within a legal department, ideally with 2+ years in a mid-size or large law firm. Knowledge of contract terms and the legal and business implications of contract provisions is essential. Must have superb skills using Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
