Immigration Attorney The candidate will represent individuals pursuing benefits or seeking relief under the Immigration and Nationality Act. Responsibilities and Duties, Conduct thorough intakes to ascertain immigration relief. Handle large caseload providing direct representation to individuals eligible for immigration relief. Provide representation to individuals in immigration removal proceedings as well as before the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Corpus Christi Immigration Court, or Texas state courts if related to a client’s immigration case. Assume general administrative responsibilities, including detailed case management, supervision of a legal assistant, and timekeeping. The candidate must have J.D. from an accredited law school. Admission to a State Bar is required and/or must be Sitting for State Bar Exam Summer of 2019 (Continued employment dependent upon Summer Bar Exam Results). Should be fluent in Spanish. Experience in immigration and family law is preferred. Have commitment to social justice evidenced by job and/or volunteer/intern experience.
