Corporate Compliance And Contracting Counsel The candidate will manage day-to-day operation of corporate compliance program. Will supervise compliance specialist servicing GCI Business needs, including Universal Support Fund and public sector compliance. Launch and maintain GCI compliance portal, providing company-wide access to key corporate compliance materials. Conduct regular review and updates to policies and procedures in coordination with affected departments to ensure that they are up-to-date and reflect best practices. Suggest alternative policies and/or provisions as needed to ensure effective and current guidelines. Coordinate GCIâ€™s Annual Policy Sign-Off. In conjunction with Human Resources, develop and implement appropriate and effective compliance training program for employees. In conjunction with Accounting, implement audit program to confirm compliance with key policies. Manage ongoing compliance programs, including international travel review, independent contractor risk assessment, third party due diligence, and lobbying and political contribution reporting. Advise and assist managers and supervisors on compliance concerns which may include investigation and determining corrective action plans. Develop and maintain three-year compliance roadmap, proactively monitor developments in compliance requirements and laws, and work with business groups to effectively address changes. Work with assigned GCI departments to understand priorities and anticipate and respond to legal issues. Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contractual agreements. Oversee the contract management process, including responding to escalations, recommending and implementing improvements to process and contract templates, and fulfilling responsibilities of Enterprise Contract Administrator while he/she is on leave. Support deployment and business adoption of new contract management software. Effectively utilize internal and external legal resources to meet business line needs. Identify, develop, and implement tools and process-related improvements to facilitate and increase the efficiency of the provision of legal services within GCI. Should have 4+ years of legal experience related to corporate compliance and/or transactional matters Experience with corporate compliance, particularly in managing a corporate compliance program, highly valued. Experience in negotiating and drafting a wide variety of standard commercial agreements and key business contract clauses preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required. Must have Bachelorâ€™s Degree in relevant field. JD degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association required. Must be licensed by state law to practice in Alaska or a state that grants reciprocity with Alaska.
