Director, Sourcing & Procurement The Candidate will be responsible to lead, manage and develop a team in the execution of category management, sourcing / RFx, contract negotiations, vendor management and financial analysis efforts across the Enterprise in the Human Capital services category (and other categories as assigned). Develop strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders to support business objectives, revenue growth opportunities, supplier innovation and expense reductions. Proactively identify emerging opportunities and translate into category and sourcing strategy action plans. Lead and execute market research, benchmarking and spend analysis projects. Contribute to the development of annual supplier cost reduction plans and assume responsibility for meeting the established goals. Identify diverse supplier sourcing opportunities and support related initiatives. Develop value-added supplier partnerships that will maximize quality, drive innovation, minimize cost and risk. Develop, lead and monitor key supplier Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process and initiatives. Review, develop, redline, and negotiate third-party vendor contracts, including Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and amendments in cooperation with legal, internal stakeholders and external business partners.. Negotiate legal and business terms including, rates, service level agreements (SLAs), liability, indemnity, security, work product ownership and ensure compliance with all government regulations and internal policies and procedures. Translate emerging opportunities and business requirements into legal and business terms. Partner with Enterprise Sourcing & Procurement (ES&P) peers, Legal, Enterprise Information Security, Finance and UnitedHealth Group’s business units as required to achieve results. Effectively work with multiple internal stakeholders within all levels of the organization simultaneously. Develop effective communication plans to both internal and external business partners.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of contract management, negotiation, drafting and redlining experience and 2+ years of experience directly leading and managing teams. Category management and strategic sourcing / supply chain experience. MBA or JD with advanced skill level in MS Power Point is preferred.
