Paralegal - Corporate Headquarters
The candidate will provide duties include: Manage third party contracts, including follow-up with contract owners to provide notice of contract renewal dates. Review and analyze certain credit union third party contracts, consulting with the Associate General Counsel as necessary. Assist contract owners with tracking, measuring, reporting, and contract terminations. Review and process subpoenas and other legal requests for member documents and information. Assist the Inheritor Services Department with deceased member account legal issues, consulting with the Associate General Counsel as necessary. Assist the Executive Assistant to the Chief Risk Officer and General Counsel with member account levies and garnishments as necessary. Provide progress reports and escalate issues to the Associate General Counsel. Maintain the confidentiality of credit union policies and procedures, member financial data, sensitive information, and work-related events. Provide quality support and maintain a professional relationship with peers, management, other staff, and members through cooperation, mutual trust and respect. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must be certified Paralegal (NALA) or Registered Paralegal (NFPA). Bachelor's degree in business or law is preferred. Experience working with third party relationships and contracts is preferred. Financial institution experience is preferred. Must be able to work independently and effectively in a continually changing environment. Must be able to read, interpret, and analyze legal documents including business contracts, trusts, and subpoenas. Must have strong organizational skills and keen ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments. Must have proven ability to develop strong relationships and work with all organizational levels. Must have strong written and oral communication skills; able to translate legal concepts into layperson’s terms and interface confidently with upper-level management and outside vendors. Must have solid business acumen, management, and problem-solving skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
