Contracts Manager The candidate will oversee organizational contract development and management activities and enforce organizational principles of integrity and compliance. Insure legal commercial reviews are completed and necessary comments are adjusted in contract documents; and coordinate contract execution. Review and assess contract scopes of work to ensure the scope falls within the needs and guidelines of the business unit as well as ensuring scopes of work are sufficiently detailed, contain pricing methodology (e.g. fixed price, cost reimbursable, etc.), schedule, deliverables. Issue spot legal and insurance matters in redline counterproposals of counterparties for review by Legal and Risk Management. Be able to evaluate, and negotiate and contracts and scopes of work with subject matter expert assistance as well as monitor contract compliance with established procedures and complete contract close-out, extension or renewal, as appropriate. Engage relevant stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal or regulatory requirements, contract standards and cost targets. Ensure that all contracts and proposals are properly entered into organizational databases and securely maintained. Perform appropriate administrative and operational research to support proposal and contract development. Assure accuracy and appropriateness of contract text and attachments. Interface with EDFR’s Risk Management team regarding adequacy of coverage and purchasing needs. Coordinate overall contracts (body and exhibits) negotiation from a Technical, Business and Legal point of view. Maintain deadlines on deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with business partners and internal clients about contractual issues. Other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 5+ years’ experience in a procurement/purchasing role which should include 2+ years in a contracts manager role and be able to demonstrate direct experience in both contract negotiations of and ability to read, understand and manage complex contracts and agreements from negotiation through the end contract life, preferably within the renewable energy sector. This experience must include the proven ability to review and edit contract scopes of work, issue spotting for legal and risk management. Paralegal certification a plus; Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related discipline is required. Should have demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing; with the ability to speak Spanish and/or French a plus. Must have demonstrated ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment and capable of overseeing multiple contracts in multiple stages at any given time.
