Senior Manager, WRD Executive and Compliance Operations (External Funding and Ex-US Transactions) The candidate reports directly into the Office of the WRD President. As part of its focus on the design, implementation, and oversight of operations and infrastructure that enable R&D colleagues to interact with the external healthcare and scientific community, supports colleagues in ex-US transactions and in providing certain external funding in accordance with company policy and applicable laws and regulations. Be accountable for delivering on important functional strategies and goals by understanding business challenges and incorporating best practices to develop executable plans that increase the operational efficiency and ensure compliance in the intake, assessment, processing, tracking and reporting of external transactions, focused on ex-US transactions and external funding such as charitable contributions, business donations and sponsorships. Responsibilities include design and maintenance of process and procedures, training and communication planning, development and delivery, oversight of business-side support desk, and leading remediation efforts for identified issues. Leads the development of functional SOPs to ensure consistency and business continuity within the compliance operations team. Works independently to evaluate, recommend, design and implement innovative processes and methodologies that ensure company and R&D colleague needs are met while ensuring consistency and compliance to establish best practices. Leads implementation team(s) within and across functional lines, taking responsibility for team deliverables. Serves as subject matter expert resource for R&D colleagues and other stakeholders. Manages the enhancement and ongoing maintenance of divisional policies, procedures and SOPs, and related system changes where appropriate, making decisions based on stakeholder consultation and agreement. Designs, develops and produces reporting processes and outputs. Coordinates monitoring results and facilitates remedial action. Identifies and communicates corrective action plans when issues are identified. Builds and maintains productive working relationships with other functions such as: Compliance, Legal, Finance, as well as similar/related compliance operations functions elsewhere at company. Maintains a strong knowledge of existing and upcoming laws and industry guidelines or trends and effectively takes into account in process assessment and design work.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree. J.D. degree or MBA is preferred. Must have 5-7 years of applicable experience in Compliance/Operations and Pharma. Demonstrated experience in process assessments, design and implementation is required. Advanced knowledge and experience in managing, reviewing, or otherwise supporting compliant external funding activities (e.g., charitable contributions, business donations, sponsorships) is strongly preferred. Should have experience in healthcare compliance policy and training development and delivery. Pharmaceutical industry experience and familiarity with the company is preferred.
