Litigation - General (consumer)
Litigation Paralegal The candidate will handle complex case management for ITC 337 cases including discovery, research, Markman hearings and trial preparation and attendance. Perform legal research using various research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER and various public-access websites. Bluebook, shepardize, cite-check and proofread legal documents to ensure proper formatting and compliance with local and federal court rules. Obtain all necessary information and materials from vendors, clients and government agencies such as the USPTO, PAIR, USITC-EDIS etc. Create, organize and maintain databases, privilege logs and files containing discovery documents, physical evidence, summaries, deposition transcripts etc. Assist with paper and electronic discovery process throughout case life cycle, including but not limited to, document collection, tracking, review and production. Draft, prepare and file briefs and legal documents. Assist with trial preparation: manage trial exhibits; prepare trial notebooks; maintain expert binders; war room set up; communicate with vendors, experts and fact witnesses etc.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should preferably have B.A. or B.S. degree with Paralegal certificate. Must have 4+ years of large firm experience. Trial experience with ITC 337 cases - International Trade Commission required. Strong knowledge of USPTO and ITC practices and procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, Concordance, Summation, LiveNote, LexisNexis, Westlaw, iCONECT, PACER, Trial Director and other litigation software tools.
