A prestigious law firm is seeking an International Wealth Planning Associate Attorney to join its Private Client and Tax team in New York. This role focuses on advising high-net-worth individuals, family businesses, and family offices on fiduciary structures, tax governance, and succession matters.

Duties

• Advise clients on tax and succession planning needs.
• Assist in the creation of wills and establishment of trusts and wealth-holding structures.
• Provide guidance on residency relocation planning for international families.
• Navigate complex taxation issues to mitigate tax exposure and identify planning opportunities.
• Draft legal documents including wills and trusts.
• Collaborate with team members to manage client relationships and projects effectively.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years of law firm experience.
• Strong academic credentials (JD required; LLM in tax is a plus).
• Experience in drafting wills and trusts.
• Knowledge of . estate and gift tax and grantor trust rules.
• Familiarity with wealth planning structures for international families.
• Some understanding of income and transfer tax rules affecting . residents with . assets.
• Experience with pre-immigration and expatriation planning is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• LLM in Tax (preferred but not required).

Skills

• Exceptional drafting, writing, and communication skills.
• Strong project management capabilities and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint (preferred).
• Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
