Professional Responsibility Counsel
The candidate facilitates the firm’s compliance with ethics and regulatory requirements. Will be member of the administrative management team and is a practicing lawyer whose sole client is the firm. Will have demonstrated understanding of the Model Rules of Professional Conduct; understanding of conflicts of interest rules, including the ability to identify conflicts and determine appropriate resolution; strong legal research and writing skills with an ability to translate legal requirements into operational process. Development of policies and processes that assist firm lawyers to comply with their ethical and regulatory requirements. Conflicts of interest analysis and resolution. Review of agreements with clients, including but not limited to engagement letters, conflict waivers, requests for proposal, and outside counsel guidelines. Work with the firm’s Conflicts Analysts and Conflicts Manager. Provide assistance with ethical and regulatory issues related to the firm’s Information Governance program. Perform tasks related to various regulatory compliance obligations to which the firm is subject, including regulatory filings and review of agreements related to regulatory requirements. Responsible for alerting the Deputy General Counsel to potential professional responsibility or compliance issues, undertaking research projects or special initiatives at the direction of the Deputy General Counsel and monitoring changes to the rules of professional conduct, as well to various laws and regulations that relate to the emerging compliance requirements for lawyers and the firm. Should have J.D. and current license to practice law in the state in which the employee is located. 2 years of legal practice is required. Regulatory compliance, contract review and Intellectual Property law experience preferred.

You all are doing a great job. I've heard some things that I know are obvious lies, but that's expected. Everyone can't be privy to everything.

Pros : There are so many great people working here. They are willing to share knowledge and help each other. The office tries to keep staff mingling and involved by frequent appreciation events. There is also a great benefits package.
Cons : You have to pay for your own parking. The firm has paid spots available in the building, but they are reserved for attorneys. Although most people agree the pay is good, let them make you an offer. This is not necessarily unique to this company, though. If you unknowingly low-ball yourself, they will accept it.
